Created using the words Give Peace a Chance
Interestingly enough the peace fingers hand gesture began as a way to flash the letter “V” in order to symbolize and celebrate victory. Winston Churchill can be credited with popularizing the gesture during World War II. It wasn’t until the late 60’s that the Hippie movement started to flash the gesture during anti-war protests. With the mass protests of the era, the hand gesture very quickly became part of pop culture and a universal symbol of peace.
